Midnight in Paris

By Federal Financial Group LLC

This was actually kind of a weird movie for me. A writer takes a trip to Paris and starts imaging what it would be like back in the 50’s. He goes to parties, interacts with famous people from the past and wishes he could be there all the time. For me it was cool to see so many different parts of Paris that they were filming in but this wasn’t one of my top movies to see. If you want to see a movie that makes you feel like you are in Europe then this is a good movie.

Argo Movie Review

Movie review by Federal Financial Group LLC

This event was really before my time, so it was awesome to see what happened. Some real life event really do make crazy good movies, this is one of them. I give it to Ben Affleck, it would be so hard to star in a movie and also direct it. But he did it perfectly. This movie had mystery, action and drama. It will keep you entertained the whole time you are watching it.

Lincoln – Movie Review

By Josh Rice, Public Relations Specialist with Federal Financial Group LLC

This movie has been out for a little bit but I thought I would put a review out there if you were going to watch it on DVD. This movie was very well put together, long but well put together. It gave you a glimpse of what really Lincoln had to go through. Even back in the beginning of this country there were lobbyist and backdoor deals that were happening. It really makes you wonder what’s happening in our country today.  This movie also shows a little bit of Lincoln’s personal life and how he dealt with a crazy wife and how much he loved both his sons.

Despicable Me 2

This movie did not disappoint me as some sequels do. It was well written and super funny. Some parts did seem a little slow but didn’t ruin the movie. I really enjoyed it because it made me laugh and built upon the original movie well. This is worth seeing in the theater.

The Lone Ranger Should Be Shot

The Lone Ranger Should Be Shot
Review by Susan Escalante

Before you want to shoot me for the title of this blog, let’s keep in mind that the original premise of The Lone Ranger is a mild cowboys-and-“Indians” story for children. For a movie with so much violence, this movie should be one of its own victims.

Because it is staged and rated as a family film, I heard young children talking behind me and thought of them often as the bad guy carved out the deputy’s heart and ate it with his bare hands, six more Texas Rangers were killed in an ambush, and a complete “Indian” tribe living in peace by a river was massacred for greed of silver.

The bad guys were aplenty and there were no consequences for their numerous bad deeds. The head mistress of the brothel was one of the good guys and Tonto, the sidekick, was a mentally-ill Native American who was supposed to save the day. The movie was mostly boring, with a few attempts at humor.

I would never waste my two-plus hours to see it again or encourage my friends to waste their time.

The only refreshing image in the whole movie was the white horse. As usual, Johnny Depp did a great job acting, but with his face covered the whole time in face-paint we could not even enjoy his good looks.

Gilbert Cruz at Vulture.com wrote more foes of the movie in a piece called, “The Lone Ranger Represents Everything That’s Wrong With Hollywood Busters.”

If you decide to see it in spite of these reviews, puhl-lease get a babysitter. This is not a movie for children at all!

And, really, is this even in Texas? It looks more like Utah or Arizona!

Zero Dark Thirty- Review

If you are looking for action in this movie it happens all in the last 5 mins. Most of the movie is how they captured info to find Bin Laden. It really opens your eyes on how well hidden this man was. The whole time the movie is playing, you can feel it building up to the exciting part at the end.  I really liked this movie. It had a couple funny parts in it, but mostly it was very informative on the whole process of capturing the most wanted man in the world.

Fast & Furious 6- Review

Image

By Josh Rice, Public Relations Specialist with Federal Financial Group LLC

You would think after 6 movies the story line would get dry and it wouldn’t be very good. This is not the case here.  Every movie gets more action packed and a little more ridiculous. Some of the action scenes are so unrealistic with so much action packed in them that we all know that it’s not possible. But that’s the funny thing about it, at this point they have had so many movies that you expect the craziness to happen. I look forward to see what happens in the 7th movie.
